Prof Stefan Trueck

Macquarie University

Stefan Trück is a Professor of Business Analytics, the Director of Macquarie University’s Centre for Transforming Energy Markets and Co-Director of the Centre for Risk Analytics at Macquarie Business School. He is also the recipient of a prestigious ARC Future Fellowship that is provided by the Australian Government to support outstanding mid-career researchers.

Previously, he has held positions at Queensland University of Technology and Karlsruhe Institute of Technology in Germany, where he received a PhD in Business Engineering. Stefan’s research interests focus on energy economics, risk management, financial econometrics and business analytics, including the fields of electricity, energy and commodity markets, emissions trading, credit risk, systemic risk, cyber risk, climate change economics and international financial markets.

He has published in several high impact journals including the European Journal of Operational Research, Global Environmental Change, Journal of Banking and Finance, Energy Economics, Insurance: Mathematics and Economics, Journal of International Money and Finance, and the Journal of Portfolio Management. He also has received various research grants, including several Discovery Grants from the Australian Research Council and major grants from the National Climate Change Adaptation Research Facility (NCCARF).
