Ben is a Research Engineer within the Industrial Centre for Doctoral Training for Offshore Renewable Energy (IDCORE). He is undertaking his research project with industrial partner Orbital Marine Power.

His focus is on research and development for Orbital’s next generation of tidal turbine blades including development of novel scale-test approaches, manufacturing, and repair strategies.

Ben has a background in mechanical engineering with a focus in marine engineering and production. His work at Orbital aligns with the Horizon 2020 project MAXBLADE, a collaborative project to maximise tidal turbine energy output through blade scaling.
