Marni leads the Deloitte Australian practice in ocean nature-based solutions, and market activation of emerging Ocean industries. Having spent most of her career leading large-scale project delivery programs for offshore energy infrastructure projects she is applying that knowledge to emerging new industries for regenerative aquaculture, ocean/marine carbon removal, ocean energy and marine spatial planning. Marni brings an energetic and pragmatic approach to linking Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) strategies to enable industry stakeholders to move forward on their decarbonisation programs while addressing climate change. Recently has been championing investment attraction and applications development of Wave energy solutions, focused on remote community and aquaculture to assess viability and project development of microgrid solutions.
She holds an MBA, two fellowships in ethical leadership and corporate social responsibility, and a power electrical engineering degree. Over 25 years of experience in business and engineering that evolved into a global sustainability solutions expert and is drawn towards cross-sector collaborations to drive industry-defining solutions. Marni has a track record of successful commercial and philanthropic partnerships for market activation and published a paper with the Blue Economy CRC on Ocean Carbon Markets in March 2022, providing an industry-investor-project developer lens to carbon markets. Has significant experience in early-stage development of offshore wind development projects, especially in the commercial collaboration and regulatory approvals areas.
