Jonathan Fievez

CEO

Carnegie Clean Energy

Jonathan has a strong drive for technology commercialisation and renewable energy. He brings this drive to Carnegie Clean Energy and has led the company as CEO since 2018. Motivated by a deep commitment to sustainability and equipped with technical expertise, Fievez has positioned Carnegie as a significant player in the global move toward clean energy through continued development and commercialisation of the CETO wave energy technology.

His engineering journey began in Australia, where he pursued a degree in mechatronic engineering. Prior to joining Carnegie, Fievez demonstrated his leadership and project management abilities in the aviation industry, contributing to the development of advanced structural monitoring systems for aircraft designs like the Airbus A380 and Eurofighter.

Earlier in his time at Carnegie, starting in 2008, he was the Chief Technology Officer and headed up the development of the CETO technology through large-scale deployment projects in waters off Western Australia, later appointed as CEO for his achievements.

Under his leadership, Carnegie has secured substantial funding and strategic partnerships for its cutting-edge CETO wave energy technology, expanding its global presence, particularly in the European renewables market, with CETO now poised for deployment and grid connection in 2025 in the Basque Country.

Beyond his professional achievements, Fievez is an avid surfer, windsurfer, and foiler. His love for the ocean fuels his commitment to harness the ocean’s potential as a sustainable energy source, addressing the world’s energy needs while mitigating the effects of climate change.
