Henry L. Han – Founder and Managing Director of Hann-Ocean Group Henry L. Han is the inventor of the internationally patented Drakoo wave technology and the Founder and Managing Director of Hann-Ocean Group.

Mr. Han holds a Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture from the South China University of Technology and a Master’s degree in Smart Product Design from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (2005). With over eight years of experience in naval architecture and ocean engineering design at marine design consultancy firms, including MARIC, and eleven years in defence project management at the Defence Science and Technology Agency (DSTA), Mr Han has a rich professional background.

He also brings twelve years of innovation development and business management experience at Hann-Ocean Group. Throughout his career, Mr. Han has received more than fifteen innovation prizes, including the prestigious Singapore Defence Technology Prize and Innovation Excellence Awards. Under his leadership, Hann-Ocean Energy has established subsidiaries in Nantong and Zhoushan, China, to expand production and business operations.

Since 2008, Hann-Ocean Energy has been developing its proprietary wave technology in Singapore. The technology has undergone extensive testing on a full scale in various locations, including the Tuas Sea in Singapore and Shangshi Island in China, as well as in full-scale wave flumes at Narec and Hann-Ocean for performance, reliability, and endurance evaluations. DNV and WS Atkins have verified the performance and application of the Drakoo Wave Energy Converter (WEC).
