Dr. Branch leads the Marine Energy Research team in the Coastal Sciences Division of the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) in Seattle. She specializes in the development of new wave energy and current energy converters.

The new technologies are being developed to power ocean observations and equipment at aquaculture farms. She also facilitates field testing of commercial marine energy devices at the PNNL-Sequim campus.
