Dr Sergio Lopez Dubon
The University of Edinburgh
Prior to joining The University of Edinburgh, he earned a degree in civil engineering and a master’s in hydrology.
His professional journey commenced at a hydrometeorological service, where he delved into the complexities of handling large-scale data. Subsequently, he pursued a Ph.D., focusing on long-term river morphodynamics, employing a blend of physical-statistical modeling techniques, which he successfully completed between 2014 and 2018.
Following his doctoral studies, he ventured into the industry in Italy as a Data Scientist. In this role, he spearheaded the development of quasi-real-time control algorithms for managing vast environmental datasets, alongside designing and implementing relational algorithms to support data-driven decision-making processes.
